Recycling & Waste Management
Responsibilities
The Butler County Department of Recycling and Waste Management carries out all of the county’s responsibilities under Pennsylvania’s Act 101 of 1988 including the goals identified in the Municipal Solid Waste Management Plan. In addition, resources, referrals, technical assistance and public education are provided to the county’s municipalities, businesses, community events and citizens regarding waste and recycling issues on an as-needed basis.
Get Recycling Right!
It is more important than ever to be sure you are placing the correct recyclables in your curbside bin. To get this information, you should always call you waste hauler since what can be collected can vary by hauler. Putting the wrong recyclables in the bin can result in the rejection of an entire load of recyclables. Remember: get recycling right!
